Did you know that the glamourous femme fatales of Murderess Row in Chicago were inspired by real life?
100 years ago, at the peak of the Jazz Age and the dawn of mass media, readers were glued to the pages of the Chicago Tribune with the sensational and often salacious details of beautiful women charged with murder. These women awaited their heavily publicized trials on the third floor of Chicago's Cook County Jail, which soon became known as "Murderess Row."
Join us as we discuss the cases and trials of the women who inspired the iconic characters of Velma Kelly, Roxy Hart, and Billy Flynn.
This event is part of the True Crime and Curiosities Series.
