Chess is a fun and challenging way to build problem-solving, strategy, and memory skills. Join teen volunteer and chess expert Mr. Sathish as he teaches the basics, answers your questions, and helps you sharpen your game against classmates!
The Library is pleased to welcome Mr. Sathish as the mentor for this program. As a founding member of his high school’s chess club, he played a key role in introducing scholastic competitions to his school. With United States Chess Federation (USCF) Quick and Blitz ratings in the 95th percentile among all scholastic players, he is a highly accomplished competitor. His success is further demonstrated by the hundreds of dollars he has won at tournaments hosted by the St. Louis Chess Club and WashU.
