Program Description

Event Details

MAKE IT SEW is a group of quilters and sewists who enjoy making small projects and quilts.

This month, we will continue our Block of the Month project for 2025 designed by Corey Yoder of corianderquilts.com. Suitable for both beginners and more experienced sewists.

Please feel free to join in at any time. If you are new to quilting, we can help you cut out your project and start sewing.

If your machine is not portable and you need to use one of our in-house sewing machines, please indicate when you register.

As always, please bring your Show & Tell items to share.

QUILTED FLAG PIN

We'll take a few minutes and make a cute quilted flag lapel pin in time for Independence Day! All supplies provided, but please bring your pinking shears if you have some - we will have some pinking shears to share if you don't own a pair.

LOOKING AHEAD TO JULY MAKE IT SEW - OPTIONAL FABRIC SWAP FOR SCRAPPY PATRIOTIC TABLE RUNNER:  If you are interested in making an easy patriotic table runner (perfect for a beginner by the way) I'd like to do a 2.5" square swap in July. Go through your scraps and carefully cut 2.5" squares from red/white/blue/gold fabric. Bundle them up into packages of 10 different squares. You can make up to 5 packages to swap. You can swap packages with others to get a nice variety of patriotic scraps. I have an instructional handout that will show the project. Someone showed us during May's class how to easily sew together 2.5" squares together using interfacing, so I'll try and have that demo prepared as well. You will need 160 squares for this table runner project. It finishes 20" x 44".
