Learn how to do English Paper Piecing, a fun method of sewing fabric pieces together to make small projects, quilts, and decorative items. All skill levels welcome.
Come and stitch with others who also enjoy making things with English Paper Piecing. If you are new to English Paper Piecing, we will get you started! After that, please select a personal EPP project to work on at each meeting.
In addition, each month we will try to learn something new in EPP - pattern, skill, project, etc...we are always sharing fun EPP ideas!
THIS MONTH...we are starting on a small sunflower quilt that uses 1/3 hexagons! You could also make a smaller project. Here is a picture of our inspiration. You bring yellow scraps, the library will provide the 1/3 hexagons to get started.
The quilt shown uses 1.5" hexagon thirds. The sunflower finishes about 7" in diameter. You will need scraps for the petals that are 2" x 3". 12 petals for each flower and one center that is a 1.5" hexagon make each flower. Pattern and further info provided in class.
The second available block size is a little bigger, using 2" hexagon thirds. The sunflower finishes about 9" in diameter. You will need scraps for the petals that are 3" x 4". 12 petals for each flower and one center that is a 2" hexagon make each flower. Pattern and further info provided in class.
You will need to bring basic sewing supplies (scissors, needle, thread, pins). If there is anything else you need to bring, an email will be sent out about a week prior to class.
Also, we love to see your Show & Tell of finished and ongoing projects of any crafty type!
