Join us for current conversations on relevant and timely topics affecting our community.

Learn about the impact of exotic, invasive plants on the St Louis region.  Invasive plants in the area include tree species, shrubs, grasses, and forbs. The goal is to give audience members the tools to mitigate the effect of these invaders. The discussion will include information on plant identification, control techniques, current problem species, and potential future threats. This will be interactive, so attendees are welcomed and encouraged to ask questions and share experiences!

The presenter, Ben Davis works for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and currently serves as the public land Forester for St Louis, Jefferson, and St Charles Counties. His work primarily focuses on natural community restoration in local conservation areas containing conservative species and the potential for high quality habitat.

Ben has been providing invasive species talks and workshops for nearly 7 years to volunteers, private landowners, partners, and interested members of the public!

This class is in partnership with Wild Ones St Charles Area Chapter, a nonprofit organization designed to promote the understanding of native plants, their benefits, and what they can provide for the environment both in private as well as public areas of landscaping.
