Event Details
In commemoration of America's 250th anniversary, the St. Charles City-County Library is offering a wide variety of presentations and programs throughout the year, highlighting local, state, and national events, time periods, and cultural moments.
Children will discover how the young country grew after winning independence, how its first presidents led the way, and how pioneers pushed westward to build new communities. Children will also experience the excitement and challenges that young America faced during the war of 1812, the various Native American wars and disputes, and the Mexican-American War.
This show is also accompanied by science demonstrations that will feature the topics of
- fire and combustion
- water power and pressure
- chemical reactions
- the physics of sound and signals
