American history and literature are rich with wonderful folktales that are loved and cherished by many. Get to to know some of the most iconic figures from these tales:

  • Pecos Bill, the world’s greatest cowboy
  • Davy Crockett, half horse, half alligator, with a touch of snapping turtle
  • Johnny Appleseed, as a real as the crunch of a ripe apple
  • John Henry, a steel-drivin’ man
  • Bess Call, the strongest woman in the world!

These larger-than-life characters have become essential parts of American culture and history.

This program is on tour around the district! Check out the August calendar to view the full list of available dates.
