Ballet 314 returns to St. Charles City-County Library to present their original ballet Assemblé. This interactive musical experience showcases how dance and music “assemble” to tell the story in a ballet. Follow the story of our “conductor” as we highlight the different sections of the orchestra through musical selections from classical ballet scores like Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Coppelia. Young audience members will witness just how many elements unite to make a story come to life on stage.
Throughout the performance, audience members will participate in music and dance demonstrations, and be able to identify the three elements of every story (characters, setting, plot) and the four sections of an orchestra (woodwinds, percussion, strings, and brass).
This program consists of a pre-show. At 6pm, the audience will have the opportunity to create their own instruments to use during the show. The ballet begins at 6:30pm. A limited amount of premade instruments will be available for those who arrive late on a first-come, first-served basis.
