Program Description

Event Details

This event utilizes an interactive card deck that provides storytelling prompts to encourage lively conversations, spark creativity and improve public speaking abilities in a low risk setting.

During this event, we will divide into small groups of 3-6 and take turns telling true, personal stories inspired by a prompt drawn from a deck of cards.  The card were created by the storytelling experts at The Moth.  The Moth is a famous storytelling organization that offers a platform for individuals to share their unique experiences and connect with others through the power of narrative.

Before we divide into groups, we will take a few minutes to go over some of the tips The Moth provides for storytelling success.

Below are examples of possible storytelling prompts.

Tell Us About A Time....

  • A time you thought you had all the answers
  • A time the rumors were true
  • A time you broke your own rules
  • A time you faced your nemesis
  • A time you felt the butterflies
  • A time you stood out from the crowd
  • A time you belonged in a blooper reel
  • A time your eyes were bigger than your stomach
  • A time you ran into somebody or something
  • A time you had to let go
  • A time you were wise beyond your years
  • A time you got there in the nick of time
