Event Details

MAKE IT SEW is a group of quilters and sewists who enjoy making small projects and quilts. We start each class with a Show & Tell of crafty things you have been working on. We love the inspiration! Because we are upcycling denim in today's class, if you have other denim upcycle projects that you've made, we would love to see them during Show & Tell!

JANUARY PROJECT:

This month's project is a large Denim Bin using old jeans, fun fabric, and a bit of trim/decoration (rick rack, pom-poms, prairie points, etc.)

Supplies you need to bring:

  • Pair of old jeans
  • 1/2 yard fabric for lining/cuff
  • 1/2 yard lighter weight interfacing
  • 1/2 yard cotton quilt batting(fusible fleece could work also)
  • A jeans needle for your sewing machine
  • Sewing machine and sewing supplies

LAST MINUTE PROJECT: We'll also be working on a group quilt or two for the California fire victims.

Here is the link to the pattern we will be using....we will be making 5" heart blocks and 10" heart blocks with a white background. There will be fabric to use, but you are welcome to use/bring your own fabric. Please use a cheerful fabric for the heart.
