Event Details

Make It Sew is a monthly group that works on a different sewing project each month. Each meeting starts with a Show & Tell of personal projects.

Make It Scrappy - The Potato Chip Block

Today we'll learn how to turn your scraps into a scrappy quilt block. This is a great BEGINNER project where you will learn how to rotary cut, press, and sew an accurate 1/4" seam. The block is called the Potato Chip Block and is a great scrappy quilt block. This Potato Chip Block uses 2" x 3 1/2" scrappy rectangles (32 per block) to make a 12" finished block.

A set of fabric rectangles will be provided for each participant to make a practice Potato Chip Block, which will then be combined with other blocks into a quilt for charity.

After your practice block is complete, bring out YOUR rectangles and make a block of your own! Once you learn how to make this block, you will probably make more...because you won't be able to make just one!

If your sewing machine is not portable, we do have two sewing machines that you can use.
