St. Louis has a wide variety of murals: vintage murals, modern murals, legal murals, stealth murals, and murals that trick the eye.  Plus, we have two continuous miles of murals.  

Doug Schneider will take you on an armchair tour, show you many of our murals, and tell you about the talented muralists who have created them.  You will also hear about the itinerant painters who traveled the Midwest painting signs on buildings – we now call these “ghost signs”.  

Also, each year there are 2 events where the public can help paint a mural.

The presenter is Doug Schneider, author, St. Louis walking tour guide, Scottish country dancer, fan of architecture, Route 66 enthusiast, who graduated from Brown University, one of the eight Ivy League universities, with a Bachelor's in History; and from the University of London with a Master's in Linguistics.
