Event Details
This block can be used to create the sampler quilt, or use it as the basis for another sewing project: pillow, tote bag, and so much more.
If you want to make enough blocks to make a lap quilt, and you want your quilt blocks to coordinate with each other, you will need:
- 1 ½ yards of background fabric
- 1 yard of main fabric. Choose a floral or colorful fabric with lots of variety in it.
- 2-3 accent fabrics that compliment the main fabric. You need about 1/2 yard of each or 6-8 fat quarters
If you can only make it to this class, you will need:
- 4 Fat quarters in different colors
This month we are making the Chained Ohio Star quilt block.
You will need:
- Your fabric
- Your sewing machine
- Your sewing tools (scissors, seam ripper, pins or clips, quilting tools, etc.)
We will have cutting mats, rotary cutter, and rulers for your use.
You can precut your fabric if your wish.
From your main fabric cut:
- Two 5 ¼ inch squares
From you background fabric cut:
- Two 5 ¼ inch squares
From accent fabric #1 cut:
- One 25 x 2 ½ inch strip
- Or Two 13 x 2 ½ inch strip
From accent fabric #2 cut:
- One 25 x 2 ½ inch strip
- Or Two 13 x 2 ½ inch strip
