In the Heat of the Night

Philadelphia police detective Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier) is arrested on suspicion of murder by Bill Gillespie (Rod Steiger), the racist police chief of tiny Sparta, Mississippi. Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger (who won a Best Actor Oscar® for his performance) shine in this classic mystery-thriller that took home five Academy Awards®, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.  

Free popcorn and soda will be served. Bring a blanket, bring a pillow, bring a friend!

Rated: TV-14

This movie is suitable for ages 14 and up but this event is for teens only. 

Ages 14-17 are welcome.

Unaccompanied Child Parental Permission Form

Any children between the ages of 10 and 16 who will be attending this program without an adult present in the library must have a copy of the Unaccompanied Child Parental Permission Form on file. This form only needs to be filled once per school year.
