Art Exploration!

The words "Fantasy Maps" are written in a blue, handwriting style font. They are surrounded by ink splatters, and a blue feather rises from the end of the s. Above them, the words "let's create" are set in a typewriter style font in white on a piece of blue paper that seems to be taped to the background. Yellow is scribbled behind the lower words. The far background is an antique style map of an unknown place in brown. Blue altitude lines are set in a circle at the center over the map. Drawings of white and blue rope hang above and below the image. Gold paint is splattered in the upper left and lower right corners. An antique drawing of a siren is set to the left, halfway off the page, and another antique drawing of a dragon is set at the lower right. A blue drawing of a compass rose is in the lower righthand corner. And a watercolor of a green and brown plant sits in the lower left corner. A few miscellaneous words are appear in the upper left corner, written in handwriting, but they are faded and unclear.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Come join us in creating watercolors of imaginary maps!

We'll be pouring coffee beans over a blank sheet of paper to create the shapes of continents, and then we will fill them in with fantasy places.

Atlases will be provided for inspiration.

Recommended for grades 3-5.
