Program Description

Event Details

An image of a road map, with red and blue lines delineating roads, is splashed across the background. It is toned with deep blue and coated with a texture that reminds the viewer of paint or plastic. This blurs the image. Patterns of splattered gold foil is layered over this background like tiger stripes. A gold circle with a marble pattern is set in the center over the background and gold foil. In dark blue cursive, the words "let's create" are placed in the left corner of this circle. In light blue bold text with underlying deep blue shadows, "map" is written just below this, with "marbling" below that in the same font in white with the same shadow behind it. All together, the words say "let's create: paper marbling."

Come dip maps and canvas in marbled paint!

A great way for kids in 3rd - 5th grade to explore creativity and learn a little about global history on the side!

This is an important cultural art form used in many cultures, such as Japan, China, and Turkey.

It was also a popular way to decorate book covers and book ends in the UK during the 19th and 20th centuries.
