Program Description

Event Details

In commemoration of America's 250th anniversary, the St. Charles City-County Library is offering a wide variety of presentations and programs throughout the year, highlighting local, state, and national events, time periods, and cultural moments.

Write Your Life Story a little at a time with this bi-weekly group. At each meeting, you will receive topics on which to write; return in two weeks and share your writing if you desire. Meetings may include special guest speakers or activities to keep the group motivated and enthused.

Writing prompts that were passed out today:

#3 MY FATHER

Describe your father. What was his full name? Who was he named after? What were his likes and dislikes? What do you remember about him? (cologne, favorite sayings, meals he prepared, advice, appearance, hobbies, pet peeves, education, jobs, etc.) What was he good at? Do you and your father share any interests? How are you alike? How are you different? Tell about your relationship through the years.

#4 YOUR CHILDHOOD HOMES

Describe the home(s) you grew up in. What do you remember about each one? (It would be nice to include a sketch or a photograph.) did you have your own room? Did you share with siblings? (We'll discuss neighborhood friends and families later...just focus on the home, yard, room, etc.)
