What we do appreciate? Scrap blocks!
Quilt blocks formed from scraps uses our leftover fabric pieces and shapes them into a new project!
We'll start our meeting with a guest speaker who LOVES scraps quilts and makes many quilts for charity.
Then we'll learn how to make a fun 8" (finished) block from your leftover 2.5" strips and scraps. I'll have a sample block you can practice on, and then you can go on and make four of your own! ONE of these blocks would be PERFECT for a potholder or mug rug. TWO could make a larger hot pad for a casserole dish. THREE or FOUR blocks could make a simple table runner.
To make FOUR blocks, bring the following cut from your scraps and/or from 2.5" strips:
TWENTY 2.5" squares
EIGHT 2.5" x 4.5" rectangles
FOUR 2.5" x 6.5" rectangles
FOUR 2.5 X 8.5" rectangles
Let me know if you are planning on using one of the in-house sewing machines.
