Event Details

Let's get ready for the holidays and make a fun holiday tree with pockets for little goodies. This is a quilted wall-hanging that finishes approximately 36" x 42".

Part 2 of this class is Friday, December 15, also from 1:30 - 4:30 pm. Please register separately if you plan to attend.

You can pre-cut your fabric or cut out your project in class. In the first picture, the pockets have the red buttons on them.

SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED: 

Focal/main print for the final border (about 5/8 yard) - it is the holly in the first picture, the kitties in the third.

Various prints in green for tree and small squares - use your scraps or purchased yardage (totaling about 1 1/4 yards)

Various prints in red for first border, binding, and small squares - use your scraps or purchased yardage (about a yard)

Various light prints for background fabric - use your scraps or purchased yardage (about a yard)

Brown scrap for trunk - 4" x 7" piece

24 red buttons

Backing and batting to finish the quilt at the end

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS

From green scraps and/or yardage, cut:

(50) 3.5” squares (24 of these could match the pockets↙)

(24) 3.5” x 5” rectangles (for pockets)

(10) 4” squares (for Half-Square Triangles)

(10) 2” squares (for checkerboard section at the bottom)

From red scraps and yardage (⅝ yard for strips), cut:

(10) 2” squares (for checkerboard section at the bottom)

(4) 1” WOF strips for first skinny border (make wider if desired)

(5) 2.5” WOF strips for binding

From focal/main print yardage (⅝ yard for strips), cut:

(5) 3.5” WOF strips for second border

From light/background scraps and/or yardage, cut:

(38) 3.5” squares

(10) 4” squares (for Half-Square Triangles)

(20) 2”  squares (for checkerboard section at the bottom)

From brown scrap (for trunk), cut:

(1) 3.5” x 6.5” rectangle
